Work

  • People Analytics Intern Jun 2018—Dec 2018

    Stone Co. São Paulo, Brazil
    • Conducted research and developed an extraction tool to process performance evaluations in Portuguese, using modern NLP techniques (word embeddings, syntax parsing, sentiment analysis).
    • Improved turnover risk prediction models by ~10 pp with feature engineering, cross-validation and optimization.
    • Developed a Python module to mass process different ML algorithms and generate performance reports.
    • Designed strategies for gathering employee data relevant to People Operations.
    • Structured internal APIs, database schemas and bulk integration layers to store/access data in a scalable environment.
  • Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder May 2015—Oct 2018

    InspiraSonho Brazil
    • Co-founded InspiraSonho, a leading social startup in Brazil, that has empowered 20,000+ high school and undergraduate students to seek professional development and educational opportunities.
    • Developed student opportunities platform; managed and designed databases; configured and monitored VPS; supervised full-stack development routines in PHP and JavaScript.
  • Summer Research Fellow Jun 2016—Aug 2016

    Amherst College Amherst, MA
    • Conducted Applied Mathematics research on circadian rhythms, supervised by Prof. Tanya Leise.
    • Engineered simulations to test efficiency of 7 circadian time series analysis methods using MATLAB.
    • Designed algorithms to analyze circadian data on large inputs and retrieve parameters (period/phase, rhythmicity, etc.).
    Awards
    • Outstanding Poster for Biomathematics, 2018, Mathematical Association of America. Awarded at the Joint Mathematics Meetings 2018 (San Diego, CA). See poster.
